Barcelona plans to build its metaverse

The year 2022 is going to be a very interesting one for Barcelona fans. They may not be among the elite teams in Europe, but they have several world-class talents on their roster. Their new manager is ready to lead them back to the top of the world. Not every generation has the opportunity to witness the formation of a world-class club. Now more exciting news has emerged as the club’s president. Who announced the club would be launching a chain of NFTs as well as a cryptocurrency. As a result, the club will be able to generate more revenue and also provide its fanbase with a greater sense of involvement.

Barcelona will also be launching crypto and NFTs

Several cryptocurrency companies offered to sponsor Barcelona for the upcoming season due to the fast-growing NFT and cryptocurrency markets. However, the Catalans chose Spotify to be their main sponsor rather than a lesser-known brand. Now they have confirmed that they do have plans to create a separate currency. In a recent interview with Laporta, according to the company,

“We’re developing our own metaverse, [which is why] we rejected the chance to be associated with any cryptocurrency enterprises,”
“The players know what we’re working on, that this is a modern club that makes use of new media. There are clauses in their contracts related to the NFT world and the metaverse.”

The club can be very successful with NFTs since each token will be unique and its value will increase after each sale. The club will be able to make money from the sale of the tokens, and the buyers will make money if the token increases in value. In no doubt, there will be a lot of investors interested in these NFTs due to their resale potential.

Cryptocurrency will be more difficult to implement, and if the currency has no real-life use, the project is unlikely to succeed. However, it is encouraging to see Barca taking advantage of the rapidly digitizing world and we can only hope for the best for their upcoming projects.
